My story

Meet William, a bouncy, happy-go-lucky young beagle mix who’s ready to sniff out his next big adventure! Full of energy and enthusiasm, William has been a wiggly, joyful presence since the day he arrived. With all the classic beagle traits—vocal, hyper, and led by his nose—he’s looking for a home that will embrace his zest for life and help channel it in positive, fun ways.William is all about people. He gets incredibly excited for attention and affection, often bouncing and barking with pure joy. Everything feels like a game to him, from handling to training. He knows “sit” and “down,” though his version often involves springing up mid-command in eager anticipation of his favorite treats (cheese and hot dogs top the list). While he loves toys, he tends to drop them quickly in favor of returning to his human friends.This silly guy needs an active home that understands the needs of a young, high-energy scent hound. A short walk won’t cut it—William will thrive with a routine that includes longer outings, nose work, sniffrichment, and brain games. He’s not suited for apartment living due to his vocal nature, and he shouldn’t be left outside unattended, as his nose will almost certainly get him into mischief. He’d benefit from positive reinforcement training and could do well in doggie daycare, where his love of play and dog-social nature can be nurtured in a structured setting.William would make a great first dog for a family familiar with the beagle lifestyle—one filled with adventures, structure, and a good sense of humor. He’s likely too exuberant for very small children but could do well with older kids who can handle his energy. With the right mix of activity and affection, William will be a loyal, entertaining, and endlessly lovable companion.
