My story

Quick Facts  Name: Kara Age: 3 years old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Whippet Mix Color: Brindle Weight: 18 kg / 40 lbs Height (to shoulder): 53 cm   Currently in foster care in Vancouver    Foster's Notes  Kara is the most gentle, loving soul who lives for cuddles. She spends most of her days snuggled up on her bed but will wag her tail and show you her belly anytime she sees you nearby. When she has the chance to run, she is the fastest dog in any park and loves to be outside, but she won’t talk to you for it until you’re ready to go outside with her. She takes no time at all before warming up to new people, looking for anyone and everyone to be her best friend!   Health  - Up to date on all five core vaccines - Completed antibody testing - Had a full dental cleaning - X-rays taken — all clear - No allergies or ongoing health conditions - Tested negative for heartworm (follow-up test recommended for confirmation) - Has a few small marks from the past: A tiny scar on the nose, A notch on one ear, A small nick at the end of the tail   Personality  I’m a curious, affectionate, and social girl who loves people. I may take a few moments to warm up, but offer me a treat and I’ll gladly take it from your hand and soon enough, I’ll be leaning in for gentle pets and even rolling over to show my belly. I’m very comfortable being picked up and carried, especially if it helps me feel secure in new situations.   Social Skills  - Great wit People: She truly enjoys human company. Whether it’s a familiar face or someone new, she l to say hello and connect. Once I get to know you, I’m all about affection and companionship.  - Great with Kids: She is a gentle loving dog with everyone.  - Great with Other Dogs: She’s happy to have them chase her or give her a sniff, but doesn’t need to socialize all the time. She’s perfectly content with human attention if that’s all she gets. - With Cats: Unknown — she hasn’t met cats in foster care yet   ‍ On My Walks ‍ - Great on a leash — usually walks beside her person - May pull slightly when excited, but is easy to redirect - Curious and alert outdoors — loves to sniff and explore - Low energy indoors but active and fast when outdoors - Loves the outdoors but waits patiently until it’s time to go   House-Trained  - Fully house-trained — will pace by the door to signal she needs to go out - Quiet: Doesn’t bark - Car travel: Rides well — enjoys looking out the window and never causes issues - Doesn’t guard food or treats - When bored, may chew on soft items like blankets — having safe chew toys helps - Very adaptable and easy to care for   For More YouTube Clips, Click Here!
