My story

Fostered in Salem, WI Meet Fortune! Fortune is a striking black tri Aussie/German Shepherd mix, born on May 24, 2025. He’s the smallest of his litter, but don’t let his size fool you—he’s full of heart and charm. With the most black coloring of the bunch and subtle brown markings, Fortune has a unique, handsome look and a gentle, soulful expression that instantly draws you in. As a mix of two intelligent, high-energy breeds, Fortune is curious and alert, but he also has a calm, loving nature that makes him a true snuggler. He may be small, but he’s mighty in spirit—and ready to explore the world with someone who will guide him with kindness and patience. Fortune spent the first six weeks of life under a crawlspace, so he’s still learning to navigate the world. But he's already shown he's friendly with other dogs, cats, and people, and he’s making great progress with positive experiences and gentle handling. What Fortune Needs: An active but nurturing home: He'll need daily exercise and mental stimulation, but also plenty of love and reassurance as he continues to grow in confidence.  Consistency and patience: As a young pup, he's still adjusting to life outside of survival mode and learning how to trust.  Positive reinforcement training: Fortune is smart and eager to please—gentle, reward-based training will help him thrive.  Ongoing socialization: Exposure to new people, environments, and situations will help him become a well-rounded adult.  Affection and security: After a rough start, Fortune is ready for a home that makes him feel safe, seen, and loved.  If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion with a quiet strength and a heart full of potential, Fortune may be the perfect pup for you.
