My story

Meet Matilda — The Happy-Go-Lucky Hound Looking for Her Fresh Start! Matilda is a beagle mix who spent far too long in a local shelter, where her life was at risk simply because no one came for her. But now she’s safe in our care and soaking up all of the second chance she got! While we’re still getting to know her, one thing is already crystal clear: Matilda is a social butterfly! She’s dog-friendly, kid-friendly, and absolutely convinced that everyone she meets is her new best friend. True to her beagle roots, Matilda has a nose for adventure and loves to explore — so a home with a secure fenced yard or an adopter who’s committed to early, attentive leash walking is a must. Matilda previously lived outdoors, so she’s still getting the hang of crate training and house manners. A consistent schedule and a little patience will go a long way as she adjusts to home life. Thankfully, she’s already shown us how quickly she bonds with people — and how that need to roam fades as soon as she feels safe and loved. Confident, curious, and full of affection, Matilda is ready to find the person or family who will finally give her the stability she deserves.
