My story

Say hello to Pepe! Pepe is a sassy-pants senior Chihuahua mix, approximately nine-years-old, weighing around seven-pounds. That's seven-pounds of attitude, thanks very much. Pepe came to rescue with two other dogs, when a good samaritan reached out to us saying that her neighbor had informed her that he was going to move and leave his outdoor dogs behind. We can tell that Pepe is used to fending for himself, because he enjoys being... by himself, lol. Pepe is full of independent sass and we just can't get enough of him (much to his chagrin). We love to follow Pepe around and try to get him to love us, while he gives us juuuuust enough to keep us coming back for more. Pepe loves to grumble and growl, but he also wags his tail and will come forward for quick pets. Seriously, be quick about them because Pepe only tolerates so much. He doesn't have many teeth left, thanks to a recent dental, but the ones he does have are still sharp! For this reason we recommend an adult-only home and one that doesn't mind potentially getting a little love bite here and there. ;-) Pepe does well overall with other dogs, but he will grumble and growl at them as well. Mostly, he just wants them to leave him alone so he can sniff and snooze on his own. Pepe enjoys sunbathing in the yard, snoozes on soft beds, soft food/treats, and doing whatever the heck Pepe wants, whenever the heck Pepe feels like it. **Pepe does have a mildly collapsing trachea and per our vet there is nothing to be done about that at this time; he does have an intermittent cough caused by this when excited or stressed. Pepe's adoption fee includes neuter surgery, prior vet care, dental, vaccinations up to date including Rabies certificate, and microchip.
