HW status: Negative Spay/neutered?: Yes Tell us about this dog: Meet Bonnie – A Sweet Soul in Search of Her Second Chapter Bonnie’s world was turned upside down when the only home she had ever known slipped away. After her beloved owner had to move into assisted living, this gentle 10-year-old girl found herself without a family. With no one able to take her in, she came to us heartbroken but hopeful that someone would see the love she still has to give. A darling blend of Dachshund and chihuahua, Bonnie is a low-key little lady weighing in at 18.6 pounds (with a few extra love pounds she's working to shed on her weight management diet). She may look like a cozy loaf of bread when she curls up, but it only adds to her charm. Bonnie is truly the definition of easygoing. She’s polite, quiet, and just wants to be near her people. Her favorite pastimes include soaking up the sun, enjoying a crunchy milk bone, and relaxing on the couch or in her bed. She enjoys short, leisurely walks and gentle affection. She doesn’t ask for much—just a soft place to land and someone to love again. She gets along well with calm adult dogs. Cats are just fine with her, and she does wonderfully with respectful children who understand she’s a senior and not a playmate. Bonnie would be the perfect companion for a retired person/couple or a quieter household. She’d love to join you on walks, easy road trips or simply sit by your side as you enjoy the little things in life together. Bonnie may have lost her first home, but her heart is still full of love—and she’s ready to give it to someone who will cherish her golden years. Could that someone be you?
