My story

Hi there! I'm Sweet Potato! Yep, that’s really my name—and if you’ve ever met a snuggly, sassy little tortie with a big personality and an even bigger heart, you’ll know it fits me purrfectly. I may be small, but I’ve got a lot of love to give! I was found wandering the rainy streets of Hamtramck all by myself, but don’t worry—I’m safe, dry, and thriving now in my foster home. I love to play with my foster friends, I’m cool with calm dogs, and I’ve never met a human I didn’t want to cuddle with. And just so you know—if you stop petting me too soon, I will find you and yell at you (adorably, of course) until you give me more attention. I mean… who could say no to this face? I’m ready to find my forever home—one with love, fun, and a cozy lap just for me. Could it be yours? Sweet Potato is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.
