My story

Hello, my name is Nazik, and I’m a confident, playful, and affectionate 3-year-old pup currently in a foster home in Greeley, Colorado. I live with a large Akbash and regularly visit my foster grandma’s house, where I enjoy playing with another female dog named Mercy—we get along great! I’m very social but dog-selective, especially with males. I prefer not to be challenged and like to set the rules in my pack. Confident dogs, especially males, can bring out my sassier side, but my foster mom is helping me learn better manners. I love to play, especially with toys that squeak, and I recently went on my very first camping trip, which was a blast! I explored new smells, made doggy friends, and had a great time in the water. At home, I love to “talk” and “sing” with my humans and will climb in your lap if you’re upset—I really do want to comfort you! Because I don’t always realize my size, I’d do best in a home with older children who can help reinforce boundaries and give me guidance. I do have a strong prey drive and love to chase smaller animals, especially if they run, so I’m not a good match for homes with small pets or livestock like goats. I do, however, respect larger animals like horses and donkeys. I’ve been working hard on my training and already know a lot of commands, including: Sit, stay (implied), down, heel, come, leave it, out, take it, break, quiet, speak, "no sir," wait, bring it, get it, get busy (potty), kennel, spot (place), and gentle. I walk very well on a leash when I’m alone, but I’m still learning to walk politely with other dogs—I want to be in the lead! My foster mom has been teaching me to auto-sit at crosswalks and wait my turn when entering or exiting through doors and cars. I’ve also improved a lot on being a “grumble-butt” when crated and as other dogs walk by at bedtime. If you're looking for a smart, self-assured, and loving companion who's eager to learn and bond deeply, I just might be your boy. I’m ready to find my forever people—ones who’ll let me cuddle, play, and continue growing into the best version of myself. For more information, contact Nazik's foster, Alicia at  alicia.flores74d@gmail.com  or Jeannine at  jeannine@dalmatianrescueco.org  Applications may be submitted at www.dalmatianrescueco.org Adoption fee: $400.   If interested in this dog, please go to  www.dalmatianrescueco.org  and submit an application for adoption. Under Adoptions, please read our adoption policy.  We must have an application before we can begin the adoption process and each dog does have foster contact listed. July 17, 2025, 7:52 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Nazik, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
