My story

Wagon Wheel, affectionately known as Scooby in his foster home, is a sweetheart who has quickly captured the hearts of everyone he meets. He’s an easygoing, affectionate companion who loves both outdoor adventures and cozy indoor moments. Whether he’s out on a trail or curled up on the couch, he’s happiest when he’s with his people. This handsome boy walks well on a leash, occasionally giving a gentle pull when something piques his curiosity. He enjoys a good walk around the neighborhood, a hike in the park, or a relaxing stroll through a trail. While he loves getting fresh air and stretching his legs, Wagon Wheel is equally content lounging around the house, following his humans from room to room, and catching up on his naps.In his foster home, Wagon Wheel has proven to be very well-mannered. He is crate trained, appears to be house trained with a routine, and knows basic commands like “sit” and “stay.” While he hasn’t shown much interest in toys, he makes up for it with his affectionate personality. At night, he enjoys curling up under the covers for a good snuggle, making him the perfect bedtime buddy.Wagon Wheel is not reactive to other animals and has coexisted peacefully with the foster’s cats, respecting their boundaries. While he hasn’t had much direct interaction with children, he has been friendly when meeting new people and seems to enjoy making human friends of all ages. His calm demeanor and gentle approach make him an adaptable companion for a variety of households. On outings, Wagon Wheel shines as a polite and happy travel partner. He rides well in the car, takes in the scenery, and loves the occasional stop for treats or a pup cup. Whether it’s exploring Fort McHenry, hiking at Patapsco State Park, or visiting the local pet store, he handles new environments and experiences with curiosity and ease.He prefers to meet potential doggie roommates before committing to living together, as he does best with polite canine companions. Once adopted, Wagon Wheel will be eligible to return to BARCS for social sessions to continue polishing his social skills. This thoughtful, gentle approach will help him thrive in his new home and community.Wagon Wheel is currently in the comfort of a foster home, where he’s enjoying plenty of walks, snuggles, and quiet moments. If you’d like to meet this loyal, loving boy and see if he’s the perfect match for your family, please complete an application and email dogfoster

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Wagon Wheel, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
