My story

Liam Hemswoof (AKA Liam Hemsworth) is a sweet, fluffy 1-year-old Pomeranian with so much love to give. He’s gentle, great with kids, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He has the most endearing soft demeanor. He's easygoing, submissive, and affectionate. Liam was found as a stray in a rough part of Bakersfield, an area sadly known as a dumping ground for unwanted dogs. A kind-hearted family took him in, along with three other strays, and gave him the care and attention he needed. When they had to move, they reached out to Shelter Hope, and we were happy to take him in. ----- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers. Be Ready: If your application is selected, our rescue counselor will be in touch for a phone interview. Adoptions can happen quickly so be prepared for our call, only apply for dogs that every family member in the home wants, and wait to apply until you return from your vacation. Please Keep in Mind: Due to high demand, especially for popular dogs, not all applicants will be contacted. Moreover, we may not reach out if we have already approved a family to adopt.
