My story

Current Location: Alexandria, VA Meet Chowder Chowder is a sweet, long-legged pup with a gentle heart and an affectionate nature. At around 5 to 6 months old and weighing 20-25 pounds, he is slender, graceful, and full of growing-up charm. His personality is a wonderful mix of silly puppy playfulness and heart-melting sweetness. Energy and Personality Chowder has a typical puppy energy level, with bursts of zoomies and playtime followed by long, peaceful naps. He loves people, especially kids, and has shown nothing but kindness and affection to everyone he meets. He is friendly and gentle with other dogs as well, always looking to make a new friend. Training and Behavior Chowder is a smart little guy and is already picking up on basic training. He has learned to sit and responds well to the word "no." He does well in a crate, sleeping quietly through the night and staying calm when crated during short absences, especially when near another dog. House training is still a work in progress, but he is being walked regularly and making steady improvement. Social Life Chowder is very affectionate with both people and dogs. He has done beautifully with the grandchildren in his foster home and enjoys their attention. On walks, he can be a bit unsure of unfamiliar things, but he gains confidence when walking alongside another dog. Best Home Fit Chowder would do well in a home with another friendly dog to help build his confidence, and he would thrive in a family setting with people who are home often to continue his potty training. A patient, loving home that understands the needs of a growing puppy will help him blossom into the wonderful adult dog he is clearly meant to be.
