Meet Xena – The Bold, Brindle Beauty! Get ready to fall in love with Xena, a striking 2-year-old hound with a gorgeous brindle coat and a playful heart. One of three siblings, Xena is full of energy, curiosity, and personality. She's blossomed so much after arriving in NM—gaining confidence every day and showing her true, fun-loving nature. Now she's in CO to start a new life! About the Breed:  Hounds are known for their keen noses, alert personalities, and loyal hearts. They're intelligent and love to explore the world through scent, making them great companions for active, engaged adopters. Expect a dog who thrives on adventure, enrichment, and a little room to run. Xena's Highlights:  She's come a long way—more confident on leash, more settled in general, and always ready for playtime.  Vocal and expressive, especially when left alone at first—but she settles down quickly and just wants to be near her people.  She’s your classic hound when it comes to cats—very interested and alert—so we recommend a cat-free home.  Xena loves to play with her siblings and would thrive in a home where she gets regular interaction and exercise. Feeding Notes:  When Xena first arrived in NM, she showed signs of resource guarding her food—possibly a result of past scarcity. While she was eating calmly with her siblings, we recommend feeding her separately in a quiet space and picking up bowls after meals to prevent any issues as she settles into her new home.  If you're looking for a confident, affectionate, and playful companion with a heart as big as her hound howl, Xena might be the one for you.  Adopt Xena – and let the adventures begin!
