My story

Meet Chickadee, a 10-year-old Corgi/Terrier mix with the cutest black and white coat sprinkled with adorable little freckles! This sweet senior girl is all about the simple life—lounging on the couch (with a little boost from pet stairs, since she needs help getting up) and soaking in gentle affection. She’s a bit nervous about being picked up and prefers to keep all four paws on the ground, but she’s happy to accept love and pets on her own terms. Chickadee isn’t super food-motivated, but she seems to have a soft spot for her foster dad—and she’ll graciously accept attention from anyone who’s kind and lowkey. Her foster family is helping her with regular potty breaks as she learns the routine. All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.
