My story

Zeus and Cash Smoney are a pair of sweet, high-energy siblings who arrived at the shelter through no fault of their own. Just young pups, they’ve already shown they’re friendly, playful, and eager to please. Both boys know a few basic commands like “sit” and “stay,” walk nicely on leash, and are mostly house trained. These brothers love people, enjoy playing with other dogs, and have a soft spot for people. They’re young and adaptable, ready to thrive with families who can give them the love, structure, and training all puppies need. Come meet Zeus at ACCT Philly, open every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. He'd love nothing more than a fresh start and a family to grow up with. VIDEO Meeting nandi: https://youtube.com/shorts/HDF0T6hZtiU?si=2sPMofiujfoPfZBn - Playful, goofy, lanky puppy. Lots of play bows and zoomies. Meeting Dior jewel: https://youtube.com/shorts/iAWOB-8_w9A?si=222OdYabZPqTEkbZ - Low tail wags, ears floppy to the side, soft eyes, soft barks BEHAVIOR: 07/22/2025 volunteer notes: Kennel presentation: zeus was sitting at the front of his kennel with mid tail wags, soft eyes and a loose body. I opened the kennel door and showed him my leash, he remained wiggly and was excited to get out. At first he did leash dodge a bit backing away or swinging his head in the other direction. But I was able to lasso him over the head without any issues. Leash: minimal pulling Handling: As soon as we got outside there was another dog in a play yard. When the dog saw Zeus it ran towards the fence barking. Zeus immediately started panicking, crying hysterically and pulling back. He had his tail tucked between his legs and was very nervous about the other dog. Once I was able to get us away from the situation Zeus calmed down in the yard with me. He allowed all handling, loose wiggly body and solicited attention. He was interested in toys and liked to chase them when they were thrown but did not attempt to pick them up. Two volunteers saw him and a female volunteer came in the yard with me. He allowed all handling with her although a bit shy at first. The lower you got the more comfortable he became. Because of his first interaction with a dog I wanted to see what he would do with a dog that wasn’t going to rush up to him. He came in with another dog so at first I had someone bring the other dog out. (Cash Smoney). Zeus immediately became super wiggly and loose once seeing the other dog. He ran around and play bowed with Cash. I then asked a staff member to bring out another dog to see how he would interact with a dog he was unfamiliar with. The staff member came out with Nandi. Nandi is a laid back low rider who I thought would be a good for him. He approached her nicely (tail low at first but quickly changed to a mid wagging tail). He didn’t yelp or whimper once during the meet and it went very well. (The first dog may have just scared him by lunging at the fence). Going back to his kennel I did have to pick him up to return.
