My story

The most beautiful little dog....meet Gizmo! This little cutie is a 1 1/2 year old, male, 11lb, Pekingese that is quite the looker! Gizmo came to us when someone contacted us and told us their dog had a little but they did not have the time to place the puppies in homes and asked if we could take them. We said yes, but under the condition that they let us spay the mama dog and they said yes! Gizmo's siblings have all been placed and he actually went into a home for a few months, but sadly they had to give him back. He is a dominant little guy that needs a strong pack leader and gentle correction when needed. The former owners told us he charged and barked excessively on walks and is was just too much to deal and work with. He came back to us and we do see he can be dominant at times, but he also corrects very well! He is in a home with lots of energy and other dogs and he is doing great! A thing to note is that he has had 2 small seizures a month apart, but has not had one in over 3 months. We had full bloodwork done on him and it came out perfect, so we feel strongly about not putting him on any seizure meds at this time and we want his future home to do the same. At this time, it seems isolated. We are looking for a forever home for him that has another "young" and playful dog in the home that is not dominant. Two dominant dogs do not work well. If you do not have another young dog, we do have his good buddy, Beau, that he can be adopted with. Gizmo is an 8 month old, male, terrier mix. We also are looking for a home that has owners that are not gone long hours during the day and have a safe and secure backyard to run around in...which he loves! Gizmo is such a special little dog and we know that his forever home is out there! Gizmo is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. We only adopt in the Greater LA areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us at gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Gizmo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
