My story

Meet Adela: A Heartwarming Tale of Resilience A Survivor's Story Adela, a resilient 1-year-old Chihuahua mix, has faced more in her short life than many could imagine. Rescued from a harrowing hoarding situation involving 45 dogs, she was left without a place to go due to the devastating Texas floods. Her 5 week old pups were sent somewhere else. Despite these challenges, Sileen has shown incredible spirit and adaptability. Health and Well-being Now in the safe hands of Barking Mad Animal Rescue, Adela has received all necessary medical care. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. These steps ensure that she is healthy and ready to embark on a new chapter of her life. Personality and Needs Adela is understandably skittish, as she and her companions were not handled in their previous environment. Due to her timid nature, she would thrive best in a quiet home with a patient and understanding individual. While she might take time to adjust, Adela can become very affectionate once trust is built. Her love for treats is a great tool to help her feel more comfortable and secure. Compatibility Having lived in a home teeming with other dogs, Sileen is extremely dog-friendly. However, because of her past experiences, it is recommended that she not be placed in a home with young children. A peaceful environment will help her continue to blossom and build confidence. A New Beginning Adela's journey is one of perseverance and hope. She has already shown remarkable progress and resilience in the face of adversity. Now, she is ready for adoption through Barking Mad Animal Rescue. Adela is looking for a forever home that can offer her the love, patience, and stability she truly deserves. If you believe you can provide Adela with the nurturing environment she needs, consider opening your heart and home to this brave little survivor. Your kindness could be the key to unlocking a bright and joyful future for Adela.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Adela, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
