My story

Meet Markus — a distinguished gentleman with a soft heart, soulful eyes, and impeccable manners. He’s the kind of dog who could easily host his own etiquette class: he knows “sit” (with such confidence you might think it’s his signature move), is working on “paw” — or maybe already knows it, since he often tries to politely shake your hand — and approaches life with the grace of someone who’s been around long enough to know what really matters: love, snacks, and a cozy place to nap.In his foster home, Markus has proven himself to be the perfect houseguest. He’s completely housebroken, quietly sleeps through the night on his dog bed, and can spend an entire workday in his crate without a single fuss. When bedtime comes, he settles in without a peep and snoozes like a pro. During the day, he’s happiest just being near his people — whether you’re reading on the couch, working from home, or moving from room to room, Markus will happily follow along. He also has the cutest little snore, like a tiny reminder that life’s better when you slow down.Markus is wonderfully gentle with his 3-year-old human foster brother, showing patience and a calm nature that make him an easy fit for a home with children. And while he can be a little nervous at first, it doesn’t take long for his tail to wag and his personality to shine. Inside the home, strangers quickly become friends — and friends quickly become recipients of his gentle kisses.Walks with Markus are short, sweet, and full of charm. He strolls politely by your side, enjoying slow, sniff-filled adventures rather than high-energy sprints. He’s as content padding around the block as he is lounging on the porch with you. And perhaps one of his most endearing quirks? He always asks for permission before getting on the couch, even though his foster says he’s welcome anytime. Once invited, he’ll curl up beside you, completely content, and maybe even drift off for one of his peaceful naps.At the shelter, Markus has met other dogs and shown a gentle, tolerant nature — he’s even been around small dogs. His low-maintenance, easygoing personality makes him an adaptable companion for many different homes, whether you live in a city apartment or a quiet house with a yard.If you’re searching for a dog who brings serenity, loyalty, and a touch of class to your life, Markus is your man. He’s the perfect blend of independent and affectionate, always ready to greet you with a wagging tail when y
