She’s got the perfect mix of energy and chill. She’ll happily chase a squeaky ball as long as you’re willing to throw it, then settle in for a well earned nap. She’s looking for a patient and encouraging family to help her keep building confidence as she navigates new places and experiences.Gertie does well with other dogs and has been very polite and submissive in her interactions. She lives with cats in her foster home and pays them little attention. She hasn’t met children in her current foster home, but her sweet nature suggests she would likely do well with respectful, dog-savvy kids.She’s both crate and house trained. Gertie is crated when her foster steps out or at night, and she settles in quietly. She’s been clean in the house and lets her people know when she needs to go out. She enjoys leash walks and is building confidence with new sights and sounds—especially in busier areas.
