My story

Dougie and his siblings, all currently at the shelter, came from a difficult life.  Unfortunately they did not have a home and spent the majority of their lives living in the woods and in tents and crates. Dougie needs an experienced and patient new family that can reintroduce him to the world as a beloved family companion.  All Perth Amboy Animal Shelter residents will be fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption.  You must be 23 or older to adopt from the shelter, complete an Adoption Application and pay the associated adoption fee.  The application must be approved by the shelter staff and all adoptions are finalized based on the best interests of our animals.  Come visit us Monday - Friday between 10am and 4pm and Saturday/Sunday from 10am - 3pm.  Contact us at (732) 324-3877 and don't forget to ask about our Foster Program!July 22, 2025, 6:32 am
