My story

Meet Summer! She’s only about a year old and just 15 pounds, but she’s already lived through more than most dogs ever should. Before she came to us, Summer was kept outside year-round, through the heat, the cold, and the rain. She had multiple litters before she was even done being a puppy herself. No comfort, no play, no real love, just survival.So yeah, she can be cautious when you first meet her. She watches you from a distance, unsure if you’re someone she can trust. But here’s the beautiful part... she wants to trust. Every day, we see her coming out of her shell a little more. She’s made dog friends, she gets excited when she sees her favorite staff, and sometimes she’ll surprise you by curling right into your lap like it’s the only place she’s ever wanted to be.Once you’ve earned her trust, she’s all in. She’ll follow you from room to room, quietly keeping tabs like a little shadow. And when you sit down, she’ll be right there, ready to curl up and stay close. She's still young and still learning that the world doesn’t have to be scary.
