My story

Meet Ophelia! Ophelia is a 6-year-old Hound mix with a gentle soul and a big heart—along with a few extra pounds. Currently weighing 80 pounds, she’s just beginning her journey to a healthier weight, with a goal to lose about 35 pounds. With the right care and support, she’s well on her way! Ophelia is fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. She previously enjoyed attending doggy daycare, where she loved playing with other dogs, and she’s a pro on the leash. Like many hounds, she can be a little stubborn at times, but with a patient and loving owner, we believe she’ll thrive. If you’re a hound lover looking to add a loyal companion to your pack, don’t overlook Ophelia—she’s ready to bring joy, snuggles, and a touch of sass to your home! If you are interested in adopting Ophelia, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age. **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. ** July 22, 2025, 10:56 am
