My story

Meet Shadow, a terrier mix born approx 6/21/22. Shadow is a beautiful and spirited mixed breed who made the long journey from Mexico to Minnesota with her two puppies. Now that her pups are safe and thriving, it’s Shadow’s turn to find the loving forever home she truly deserves.   With her sleek black coat, white chest, and striking brindle paw, Shadow is as stunning as she is unique. Her large, expressive bat-like ears are always alert and full of personality. Shadow is endlessly curious and energetic. She loves long walks, playing fetch, chasing sprinklers, and trying new things like swimming and treat puzzles. She is incredibly smart and resourceful. Once, she opened a closed pizza box on the pavement in seconds just to rescue the crust inside.   Shadow is crate trained, house trained, and does well with most other dogs. She would do best in an adult-only home or with older teens, as she can feel uneasy with the unpredictability of young children and may try to keep order with a quick nip. A structured, calm environment will help her feel secure and confident.   She has not been cat tested, but she does show some prey drive outdoors, so caution and supervision are recommended if introducing her to cats or small animals.   True to her name, Shadow is a deeply affectionate and loyal companion. She will happily curl up beside you and follow you from room to room like your own personal shadow. She is also wonderfully talkative, expressing herself with adorable grumbles, whines, and excited barks. Her personality shines just as much during quiet cuddle time as it does during play.   Shadow is looking for someone who will embrace her adventurous spirit, love her goofy quirks, and give her a space to zoom.   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Dental, Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
