Pet Location: Girlie is currently living in a foster home. If you’d like to schedule a time to meet her, please contact Wayside Adoptions at 816-986-4426.My Friends at Wayside say: - I am enrolled in Confidence College. This is a program for dogs to build confidence and learn that the world is not so scary. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session. -My foster family said that I am house-trained. -I have experience living successfully around cats in my foster home. -I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. Please visit our website for additional information. My home needs are: -I must go to a home that already has another dog so they can show me the ropes. -Wayside recommends you bring your dog to meet me before adoption to ensure we can be buddies. -I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises. -A fenced yard is a must for me! I need a secure area to run around and release my energy.Hi there, I’m Girlie! I’m a playful, easygoing, affectionate little sweetheart who loves to be by your side. I’m timid too, especially at first, but I’ll come out of my shell with time and the help of a dog friend. I’ve just never had a stable home before, and change can be hard for me, but with a little extra patience, I’ll grow into such a nice friend. I hope that maybe you need me in your life just as much as I need you. I’m a darling, 9-month-old, 34-pound Lab mix, with sleek, glossy, soft puppy fur, expressive ears, and a lovely, happy personality. I’m already housebroken, too. I’ve already had quite a lot of trauma and instability in my short life. Someone dumped me on the grounds here at Wayside, all alone, a vulnerable, sweet puppy with no idea what was happening. Not understanding that Wayside was a safe place for me, I ran. I spent a week wandering, looking for food and shelter, afraid of everything. I didn’t deserve this fate. No one does. The kind people at the KC Dog Trappers eventually caught me and brought me to safety. I was so thin, hungry, scared, and fully covered in ticks. Still, my sweet spirit came shining through, even as I cowered in my kennel, afraid to leave the safety that it provided. That’s when Foster Mom came along. She took me home to show me what my life should have been like all along. Ah, I could finally just breathe.Living in a real home with a loving family w
