My story

Say hello to Svedka, a handsome gentleman with a heart that's learning to trust again. He arrived at our shelter on July 4th, thanks to a local grassroots rescue who saw something special in him. With his tipped ear, it’s clear he was once part of a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program, living the outdoor life. But someone must have realized what we now know: Svedka is far too sweet and gentle to spend his life on the streets. At around 2 years old, Svedka is in that perfect in-between stage—young enough to be playful and curious, but mature enough to enjoy quiet companionship. When he first came to us, he was understandably cautious. Shelters can be overwhelming, especially for a cat who's just beginning to adjust to indoor life. But we’ve already seen glimpses of the soft-hearted kitty beneath that careful exterior. What he needs now is someone patient—someone who understands that sometimes the best connections take a little time. Give him the space to feel safe and come out of his shell, and you’ll be rewarded with a loyal companion who’s full of quiet love. Now about that name…"Svedka" is derived from the Slavic word for "Swedish"—and much like the vodka brand it's associated with, this guy is smooth, cool and best enjoyed at a relaxed pace. Svedka is: * Neutered, vaccinated and microchipped * In need of a calm, loving home where he can bloom on his own terms * Sweet, gentle and full of potential, once given the time and kindness he deserves If you're looking for a low-key, classy companion with a heart of gold, Svedka might just be your perfect match. All he needs is someone to help him settle in and a little time to show his true colors. The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times.
