Suzu

My story

SuzuIf you have watched `It`s a Wonderful Life` at Christmas time, you will remember Suzu`s petals. I am proud to have the name of that cute little girl. I am also a cute little girl, only 1.5-years-old, with an extremely timid personality. I was surrendered to the HSHC on July 1 because my owner couldn`t afford to have a cat. The staff decided I needed to be in a Roaming Room to encourage me to be brave and explore the area. I know I am a little wallflower, as I`m happier on the edge of activity rather than in the center of it. When I`m approached, I may run away, but if you let me come to you, I`ll let you pet me. I avoid all contact with dogs and younger, active cats. I`m more comfortable with older, calmer cats. I have terrific litter box habits. Among my favorite things are Churu tubes, hard, crunchy treats, catnip, and playing with a laser pointer. The interviewer lady (IL) has tried several times to get an interview with me. I am always hunkered down in a Kitty Kasa, usually under a pillow. I am more at ease when I am out of sight. When the IL lifts the pillow to say hello, I never hiss at her. Today, I even let her extend her hand so that she could pet my head. This is a big step for me, and it shows that I am capable of becoming more sociable with the right family. I appreciate how patient she has been, because in my first home, they tended to chase and corner me if they wanted to cut my nails or check something. I will need a longer period of time to settle into a new home and routine than you might expect. The HSHC staff will provide you with important information on helping me adjust to the change of location and to become more sociable. I am eager to start over in a new family and learn how to be the best Suzu I can be, cause it`s a wonderful life! 8-12-25
