My story

Sterling is a 2.6-year-old terrier mix with a soft spirit and a heart full of potential. Found as a stray, she can be a little unsure in new situations, but once she feels safe, her gentle and affectionate side starts to shine. Sterling allows all handling and enjoys calm, reassuring pets. She walks slowly on leash, staying close and curious. Around new people, Sterling is friendly but cautious—she appreciates a quiet, respectful approach. She knows how to sit, and takes treats politely. While she hasn’t quite figured out how to fully engage with toys, she shows interest in ropes, balls, and squeakers, and may blossom into a playful pup in a loving home. During play tests with other dogs, she’s been playful but unsure, and would benefit from slow introductions. Because of her initial hesitation in new environments, she’s best suited to a calm home with kids aged 16 and up.
