My story

Angels really do walk on earth and Duke is one of them! Meet Duke Angel! He’s simply… amazing. There’s just something about Duke…a quiet magnetism, a strikingly handsome face, and a calm, comforting presence that makes you want to be near him. He’s the kind of dog that turns heads when he walks down the street, and his future family should be prepared to hear “He’s so beautiful!” from every passing stranger. But Duke isn’t just a pretty face, he’s a total vibe and the total bestie package. We believe Duke is a pittie mix of some sort around 2 years old and weighs approximately 45 pounds. He has this beautiful golden coat with gorgeous amber eyes. He is a little stout guy with the best stubby legs. Due to him being a rescue, age and breed are our best guess and cannot be guaranteed. Check out Duke here: https://youtu.be/6UxiB80itAM When Duke came to visit us, the skies opened up with a torrential downpour, throwing our usual routine into chaos. Dogs and people were packed inside, thunder rumbled in the distance, and the room buzzed with energy, but Duke? Cool as a cucumber. He handled it all like a seasoned pro, taking the stormy situation in stride with his attempts to still be the very best boy. That easygoing nature is just who he is, steady, calm, and confident in the best way. He warmed up quickly to new people, greeting us with soft eyes and polite enthusiasm. His foster shared that he was a total gentleman at a recent party they hosted, meeting guests of all ages, including babies and toddlers, with sweet curiosity before making his way back to his kennel for a break. He’s proven himself kid-friendly, and we think he’d do wonderfully in a home with dog-savvy children who know how to respect a mellow pup’s space. As far as dogs go, Duke’s a laid-back companion. He lives with a foster pittie sister and they have a great time together. When he was with us, he spent time with two of our higher-energy resident pups and was happy to be part of the group. Even if he wasn’t one to chase and tumble. He’s more of a “hang with the crew and chill out when they do” kind of guy. A home with another medium-energy dog would suit him just fine, but he’d also be perfectly content soaking up the spotlight as your one and only. And cats? Duke is one of the rare few who not only coexists peacefully but has actually won over his foster’s cat! A feat none of their other foster dogs have managed. He’s gentle and respectful, even greeting her with a friendly lick now and then. When he met our house cat Biggie, he offered a cautious, curious sniff before going right back to his own business. He’d be a lovely match for a home with a dog-savvy feline friend. Duke doesn’t ask for much. He tires out quickly on walks, so he’s probably not your hiking buddy, but he’s definitely your brewery partner, your coffee shop date, your front porch snoozer. He’s a master cuddler and won’t hesitate to join you on the couch for some cozy downtime. Whether in an apartment or a home with a yard, he’ll adapt with ease. He’s just that kind of dog; low-key, loyal, and full of love. Duke is the definition of a chill companion. He’s handsome, well-mannered, friendly with just about everyone, and gives off the kind of calm energy that makes a house feel like home. If you're looking for a vibe-check approved best friend, Duke is ready to bring his quiet charm into your life. Does Duke sound like your new best friend? We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time. https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
