My story

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes, and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. SCARLETT and her sister VANESSA VAN HELSING were living in a back yard in North Hollywood, California. They were surviving. The woman that was living on the property was barley taking care of them. Then we discovered that coyotes had been coming around. So we picked them up. And to our surprise they had babies!! Well because both the girls were probably 5-7 months old (age not known exactly) one of them decided she was not going to be a mommy. So our foster decided to separate that one and they both got very aggressive. So our foster put the one mommy back and technically one of them raised the kittens, while the other mommy just "lived" with them. Kittens are growing and the mommies are ready to be adopted! Meet SCARLETT VAN HELSING, a dainty Domestic Long Hair Maine Coon mix from North Hollywood, California, whose mysterious charm is wrapped in a silky coat and a quiet resilience shaped by her adventurous past. Though she’s petite for her breed, SCARLETT VAN HELSING carries herself with the grace and curiosity of a queen. With her gentle golden eyes and wisps of luxurious fur that seem to shimmer in the light, she’s not one to make a scene—but when she feels safe, her affection shines through in the sweetest ways. SCARLETT VAN HELSING absolutely loves gentle pets, especially under her chin and along her back, and once she trusts you, she melts into your hands with a quiet purr. She can be picked up and held, but it’s always on her terms—like any self-respecting feline who has roamed the world and lived to tell the tale! SCARLETT VAN HELSING spent her early life navigating the streets and raising a litter, so she's still adjusting to the comforts of indoor life. Each day brings a little more bravery, a little more curiosity, and a few more heart-melting moments where she seeks out love and affection. While she isn’t tightly bonded to her sister, she definitely gets moody when she’s not nearby—think of it as the sibling version of “Where’s my emotional support cat?” They may not be inseparable, but her sister's presence seems to add a layer of confidence to SCARLETT VAN HELSING’s day. She’s best suited for a calm and patient family who understands the beauty of slow-building trust and the joy of watching a cat bloom into her full personality. Scarlett would do well in a quiet home with a gentle rhythm and guardians who are happy to let her set the pace. Her Maine Coon heritage means she may surprise you with bursts of playfulness and some soft chattering once she truly settles in. Are you the kind of kindhearted soul who can help SCARLETT and VANESSA VAN HELSING write their next chapter—a cozy one filled with soft blankets, soothing voices, and the promise of unconditional love? PETSMART in City of Industry, California off Colima Road in Murrieta, California off Madison Avenue in Hemet, California off Florida Avenue in Palm Desert, California off Monterey Avenue The crazy rescue mama will drive kitties to their new home, meet & greets, etc...once the phone interview and home check have been done. Gas donations always appreciated! ************* Please no calls to the rescue. It does not mean they don't have other pending applications or meet and greets. Please note: Just because you fill out an application and are approved does not obligate you to adopt the cat/kitten. If he or she is not a fit...we have plenty of other cats / kittens available for adoption. We are a SMALL rescue based out of Hemet, California. We are all volunteers that run the rescue. If we haven't reached out....be patient. SCARLETT VAN HELSING is ALREADY fully vetted. The adoption fee of $250 covers: Spay FVRCP shots RABIES shot FELV/FIV test (Negative/Negative) Drontal Dewormer Stronghold Flea Control Microchip We are NOT a government FUNDED shelter, and all our donations and adoption fees are for our rescued cats/kittens. So, we do not do DISCOUNTS. If for some unfortunate reason you missed out on the kitten/cat you emailed about...I'm sure that we could help you with another rescue baby! Just ask! If you have any questions not covered here, please feel free to email us: Workinwhiskers2020@hotmail.com

If you have any questions or would like to adopt SCARLETT VAN HELSING, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
