My story

Meet Autumn! Autumn is a playful, quirky, and sweet girl who’s ready to start her next chapter after raising five beautiful puppies in our care. Now that her little ones have been weaned and adopted, this goofy, toy-destroying, belly-rub-loving mama is ready to find a family of her own! Autumn is a happy, social pup who loves meeting people and other dogs. With slow introductions, she typically gets along really well with canine friends. She hasn’t lived with cats, and given her prey drive and interest in small animals, a cat-free home would likely be best. She hasn’t met kids yet either, though she’d probably be okay with respectful, dog-savvy children. She’s very food motivated, which makes her both a bit sassy and a great candidate for training. She knows “sit” and “paw” and is working on “down,” but she’ll need an adopter committed to teaching her leash skills - Autumn pulls hard on walks, especially when she sees another dog or small critter to chase. With vocal praise and plenty of tasty treats, she responds really well and is eager to please. Autumn is crate trained and house trained, though she may whine for a few minutes when left alone. She would prefer a home where she can be with her people more often than not, and where she has plenty of exercise, long walks, and mental stimulation like puzzle toys. Because of her prey drive, strong pulling, and spunky personality, she’ll do best with an active, confident adopter who has experience with dogs and can give her the structure she needs to thrive. A quieter neighbourhood would suit her best, rather than the hustle and bustle of downtown living. Autumn is equal parts silly and sweet — goofy like Olaf from Frozen but with the sass to keep life interesting. She’s playful, affectionate on her own terms, and always up for a new adventure. Think you might be the right fit to provide a loving home for Autumn? Apply Now! https://newcollar.co/apply-to-adopt

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Autumn, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
