My story

I'm available for adoption at ACC's Mobile Adoption Event on Saturday, July 26 from 12pm - 4pm at The Pet Market, 2821 Broadway, New York, NY 10025. Adoptions are in-person and first come, first served, so make sure to get there early. You can apply for me now, but it will not put me on hold for you. I can't wait to meet you!What my friends at ACC say about me:August is an under-socialized kitten who retreated when approached, hissed, and attempted to avoid touch or petting, but marginally tolerated it while remaining fearful.August appears to be fearful and given his age at the time of the assessment (10 weeks old) we believe that he hasn't had much human interaction up to this point and as a result is under-socialized; a condition that should be temporary if he is given appropriate interactions. During the assessment he retreated and hissed. He needs intensive socialization at the present time. We recommend that this cat go to a home with cat parents who are preferably familiar with kitten socialization or are open to detailed counseling by staff. The speed at which the kitten will become socialized is hard to predict but given his age it we believe may take some with results possibly uncertain. If socialization is not begun soon there is the potential for this condition becoming permanent or long term. Primary Color: Brown Tabby Secondary Color: White Weight: 2 Age: 0yrs 0mths 11wks
