My story

HOW TO ADOPT: This pet is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this pet, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- An excellent lounger who loves his dog bed, burrowing in blankets, and sitting on the couch like a human; not a super clingy or needy dog, but he'll come to you sweetly when he wants cuddles - Has done great when meeting strangers on walks and when they visit his foster home; may come to his people for reassurance at times but is generally happy and comfortable around everyone he meets - Likes toys and playing fetch, and is also good at self-play -- he'll roll over onto his back and entertain himself by squeaking his squeaky toy- Rides well in the car and will hop right in on his own - Smart boy with an expressive face and the most adorable puppy dog eyes; already knows sit and shake and is very willing to learn, so he'll be a lot of fun to train - Loves going on walks and has been working on loose-leash walking, but can get pretty excited when seeing small animals like squirrels and bunnies, so walking him with a harness will be ideal - Has been spending time in a foster home and appears to be potty trained; just remember that any dog may need time to adjust to a new schedule- Can struggle with the beginning stages of being left alone and has been known to be vocal before settling down and relaxing in his crate; will benefit from continued crate training, and we're happy to talk with you about ways to set him up for success - Foster family says he has done well when left home alone outside of his crate and likes to nap on his people's bed during the day - Young, busy children can be a lot for him right now, so he's looking for a mature home- Has been very uncomfortable and fearful around other dogs; needs to be the only dog in his home right now to set him up for success- A little too interested in cats and other small pets, so he needs a home without them. - May need a little extra time to settle in, so he's looking for kind, patient people who will treat him with understanding and give him time to acclimate; once he's your pal, he loves to give kisses! This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 77.5 Age: 2yrs 7mths 2wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Pavlov, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
