Meet Lena Meet Lena ? Ready for a New Beginning Lena is a 2-year-old Pitbull who weighs in at a solid 67 lbs.—but behind that strong frame is a heart that’s been badly bruised. Found as a stray, no one came looking for her… and now we understand why. Lena has shown us heartbreaking signs that she was once abused. When a hand is raised—even just to grab something—she flinches and cowers to the ground. We offered her a toy, and as soon as we lifted it to toss, she ran and hid. During her food test, she didn’t guard her food—she tried to disappear into the closet, terrified of what might come next. It’s clear someone hurt this sweet girl, and it’s something we’ll never understand. Despite her fear, Lena is so lovable. She craves affection and tries her best to trust, even when the world hasn’t been kind. She’s animal-friendly and seems to have lived outside most of her life—her coat is thick and dirty, likely from a long time spent outdoors. This girl is long overdue for a deep-clean spa day and, more importantly, a home filled with love, patience, and safety. Lena is ready to start over. She deserves kindness. She deserves peace.
