My story

Meet Bumper Beth!This sweet soul is a 9-year-old, 15-pound Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix who came to us after her owner became too ill to care for her. Bumper Beth is a quiet, gentle lady who takes life at a slower pace—and she’s looking for a calm, loving home where she can truly relax.She’s a bit reserved at first and prefers to take her time getting to know new people, but once she trusts you, she’s happiest curled up in your lap. She’s fantastic on a leash and doesn’t ask for much—just a cozy spot, a kind heart, and maybe some ear scratches now and then.Bumper Beth isn’t a high-energy pup; she’s more of a low-key companion. She recently had her first encounter with cats and was understandably nervous, but showed no signs of aggression—just some cautious side-eye before quietly continuing on her way.If you’re looking for a mellow, loving companion to share your days and your lap, Bumper Beth would love to meet you.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it.
