My story
Ole Red was found on the shelters front porch (7/11/25)having a heat stroke. He was unable to walk due to his poor condition. Our staff quickly carried him inside and laid him on the cool tile floor. His temperature was 106 which is dangerously high and could have caused organ failure. We covered him with wet towels and administered 500ml of SQ Fluids to lower his temp. After an hour and a half his temp was back to normal and he was resting. We posted looking for an owner and no one came forward. Today is 7/24/25 and he is doing amazing. We have even introduced him to a female dog that he seems to be doing ok with.
