Meet Merlin – the Indoor Life Convert with a Heart Full of Curiosity and a Soulful Stare That Might Just Put a Spell on You ✨🐾 Merlin wasn’t always destined for the indoor cat life. Originally trapped as part of a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) effort with his siblings and mama, he surprised everyone by showing—just minutes after being trapped—that he wasn’t like the rest of his colony. This brave little kitten made it clear he was ready to trade alleyways for sunny windowsills. With his tiny ear tip as a badge of honor, he began his journey toward becoming the perfect indoor companion. In just a few weeks, Merlin has blossomed into a confident, curious, and observant kitten. He’s always eager to explore new spaces, investigate new sounds, and, most of all, befriend every cat he meets. He’s impressively respectful of feline boundaries—he knows when it’s playtime and when it’s just time to chill nearby. He’s even met a calm, medium-sized dog and handled it like a champ—watching from a safe distance, curious and calm. Based on that interaction, we think he’d do well with a cat-friendly dog after a proper introduction. He’s a smart, brave little guy—even spooky things like the litter robot and water fountains were quickly conquered. His confidence is growing every day, and he’s learning that humans are pretty great too! While he’s still working through some trust when it comes to direct affection, he’s not shy—he’s out and about, intrigued by the world, and never hides away. When he’s sleepy or eating (which he LOVES—this guy is super food motivated), he’ll happily soak up pets and purrs like a pro. Lately, he’s been making big strides—rubbing against legs at mealtime, curling up near the foot of the bed, and choosing to nap closer and closer to his humans. He especially enjoys staring contests and silent chats from just a few feet away, his deep, soulful eyes seeming to say, “I’m almost there... I just need a little more time.” Merlin would thrive in a home with another confident kitty to show him the ropes and humans who are willing to go at his pace. He’s already well on his way to becoming a lap cat—you can practically see the gears turning as he contemplates those last few steps toward full trust. He’s a goofy little contortionist, often found rolling around on his back in sunbeams or batting toys with his big, expressive paws. And while he may have started his life outdoors, he clearly knows he made the right call when he said, “Please don’t send me back out there.”
