My story

Current Location: Alexandria, VA Meet Pelican At just over 5 months old, Pelican is a creamy-coated pup with unique markings and the most expressive ears. He’s the perfect mix of calm observation, snuggles and kisses, and playful energy, making him a joy to be around. Energy and Personality Pelican loves to run and play with the bigger dogs in his foster, zipping around with bursts of joy and stealing toys before settling in for some quiet time with his humans. He’s curious, gentle, and already shows a balanced personality for his age. Training and Behavior In his foster home, Pelican is doing wonderfully with potty training and is learning the ropes of leash walking. He’s a quick learner who enjoys encouragement and structure, setting him up to be a well-mannered companion as he grows. Pelican is eager to please and will excel with training and continued socialization. Social Life Pelican lives in a foster home with several adult dogs and teen and tween children. He enjoys the company of dogs and people and is friendly and adaptable when meeting new animals and people. Special Traits His wise, thoughtful gaze is matched by his sweet nature and playful spirit. He has a knack for making you feel like you’ve known him forever, even if you just met. Best Home Fit Pelican will thrive in a home that can provide playtime, gentle guidance, and plenty of love. He would do well with another friendly dog or as the center of attention in a devoted family. Veterinary Care Pelican has visited the veterinarian for a health certificate, is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, neutered, and has a microchip that will register to his new family at the time of adoption. He is on heartworm preventative, flea and tick preventative, and has received worm and parasite treatments.
