Babe's Story (a.k.a. How to Accidentally Adopt a Desert Dog) Babe and her little family were unceremoniously dumped on a dirt road near a quiet desert house. Not ones to panic, they camped out nearby and used the oldest trick in the dog book: sad eyes + patience = snacks. Sure enough, a kind man eventually came outside and offered them food. That sealed the deal. From that moment on, Babe and her crew decided this was home now. They slowly worked their way closer to the house… until one day, they just strolled right in like they’d lived there forever. And honestly? No one had the heart to stop them. Here’s the thing: the man works six days a week and definitely didn’t plan on having a surprise pack of pups. But with a heart bigger than his schedule, he welcomed them in. Now, he’s doing his best—but he knows they deserve homes where they’ll get all the love, attention, and toys they could ever want. Babe is about 1.5 years old and as sweet as a desert sunrise. She’s mellow, gentle, and just the right amount of curious. She loves a soft spot to nap, a snack within reach, and a human who doesn’t mind the occasional side-eye when she’s not getting her way. She’s not demanding—she just knows what she likes. If you're looking for a loving, low-key companion who’s already mastered the art of winning hearts, Babe might just be your girl.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Babe, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
