My story

We are trying to brighten up the gloomy weather in San Francisco with a vacation to the tropics, and we’re pleased to introduce you to a chihuahua cutie with a coat the color of a toasted marshmallow, Fiji! This dapper little gentleman is doing his best impression of a fluffy smore, with a golden glow and a more chocolaty snout and ears. He couldn’t decide if it was best to have perky or floppy ears, so he went with one of each, giving him an adorably inquisitive gaze. At only 7 years young, Fiji is looking to spend a lot more days enjoying his retirement to a tropical paradise (or San Francisco), snoozing the day away on the sand filled beaches of your comfy couch. Fiji is a sweet guy, getting along with the other mutts at Muttville, interacting with a playful nature and constantly wagging tail. He’s also good for volunteer snuggles, and we can vouch for him being a positively perfect pal for couch potatoing. If you are looking for a cute little nugget of chihuahua-y goodness, look no further than Muttville – come on down and meet Fiji today! Here's some notes from his foster: It was an absolute joy to have Fiji as my interim foster guest for just four short days! At first glance, his crooked lower canine might give off a slightly “tough guy” vibe—but don’t be fooled. Once he warms up (took less than 24 hrs with me), his easygoing, affectionate, and happy spirit shines through. Fiji is a total hugger and kisser, and he celebrates mealtimes and walks with joyful, kangaroo-like hops. He is fully house-trained, walks nicely on leash, rides calmly in the car, and showed no signs of issues being left alone. Fiji absolutely loves rubbing and rolling in fresh grass and prefers quieter spaces over crowded, noisy city scenes. Elevators are still a bit new to him, but he is adjusting. He is friendly with people and small dogs, though he can be unsure around larger dogs. Fiji is very easy to care for and gives back so much love, joy, and laughter. Come meet him, and before you know it, his uniquely charming personality will make that “tough guy” first impression melt away—and turns his quirky look into something irresistibly adorable!"
