Meet Burger King, a 1-year-old, 51-pound pup with a big smile, a playful spirit, and a heart full of affection. He’s a fun-loving boy who’s just as happy chasing a ball as he is soaking up attention from his people. Burger King starts off excited and a little jumpy coming out of his kennel, but he’s easy to harness and quickly settles down. Once he gets that first burst of energy out, he relaxes into a more medium-energy dog who walks nicely on leash and is easy to enjoy a stroll with. He’s a great car rider, hopping in on his own and settling quietly to sit or lie down for the trip. This smart boy already knows “sit,” “shake,” and “drop it” when playing fetch—his favorite game! He loves chasing a ball and carrying it proudly, though soft toys aren’t really his thing at the moment. He’s treat motivated and eager to please, making him a great candidate for continued training. Burger King is also a polite greeter. At a recent visit to All Pets Considered, he wagged his tail, happily accepted pets, and gave a few friendly licks. He was nonreactive to other dogs in the store and even enjoyed lying down for belly rubs in the adoption room. On a park outing, he noticed a squirrel but didn’t pull hard—just a curious glance before moving along. With his playful personality, good manners, and affectionate nature, Burger King is ready to be someone’s loyal companion. Whether you’re tossing a ball, going for a walk, or relaxing together, he’s happy just to be by your side. Burger King is only listed as No Small Children because he could easily knock over toddlers. He'd likely adjust well with older, dog savvy children! As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Burger King, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
