Meet Louie – From Rock Bottom to Rockstar Louie came to the shelter weighing just 39 lbs, with every bone showing and a body score of 1/9. He was scheduled for euthanasia that same day — until The Hero Rescue stepped in and gave him the second chance he desperately needed. Now? Louie’s thriving at 72 lbs and making up for lost time with endless love, cuddles, and stuffed animal parades. If you glance his way, be prepared — he’s coming in hot for affection. He’s got bursts of playful energy but is just as happy curled up next to you for hours. He’s great with other dogs and gentle with cats, and while he loves kids, his size and enthusiasm might accidentally bowl over the tiniest ones. So older children or dog-savvy homes are best! Review our adoption contract and application. 2. Call your vet and references to inform them that a rescue representative will be calling. 3. Once approved, we ask that all members of the household (including dogs) be available for meeting the animal within 5 days. If for whatever reason you do not take the animal home after the first meeting, please understand that we will continue to process applications for the animal and availability is not guaranteed. 4.
