Nacho

My story

Meet Nacho! He is a 1-2 year old mixed breed dog who is 62 pounds of love and cuddles. He loves to play and has never met a stranger, humans or dogs! Potty trained and crate trained, he lights up when you give him love and affection. He was brought into the York County Shelter on May 28th after being dumped on Ogden Road. He was pulled from the shelter on July 18th mere hours before being euthanized for space. During his time at the shelter, he earned his keep by serving as the “tester dog.” When new pups came into the shelter, their behavior and temperament would be tested with Nacho because he is such a sweet boy. He is on the bigger side at 62 pounds with a big happy grin to match. He has lived with cats and other dogs and has been friendly to all. To our knowledge, he has not lived with kids but due to his size, we think kids above the age of 5 would be best. Sometimes he forgets how big he is and might accidentally knock the little ones down. When he is not playing with his foster brother, Ragu, his favorite pastime is giving kisses and cuddling up next to you on the couch. He is motivated by treats and through watching his foster brother, is learning basic commands like “sit” and “stay.” He sleeps like a rock in his crate every night without making a peep. We usually have to wake him up in the morning as he likes to snooze until after 8. He will make a great companion for any person or family. We think he would do well as the only dog or with brothers and sisters. He loves attention and loves being loved.
