My story

Meet Jack! Jack is a sweet, mellow 5 year old  Yorkie who’s still discovering what it means to be a carefree dog. He’s calm, gentle, and loves being around people. If you’re looking for a quiet companion who’s happy just being by your side, Jack could be the perfect pup for you. Personality & Preferences Loves being outside — enjoys roaming and relaxing in the yard Enjoys cuddling and being petted Loves treats Not into toys (yet!) Unsure about playing with other dogs Unsure about kids — hasn’t been around them much Good with adults and seniors Tolerant of handling (no issues with paws, ears, food, etc.) Not fearful of thunder/fireworks to excess — he seeks comfort inside and settles quickly Ideal Home for Jack A fenced yard is preferred so Jack can explore freely and safely A quiet home with someone around most of the day would help him feel secure Another calm dog could help show him how to play and be more social Not recommended for homes with very young children, as his experience is unknown An apartment may work with commitment to regular outdoor time, but a home with a yard is ideal Energy Level Couch potato most of the time ‍ Energetic in short bursts when first outside Not very playful Not leash-walk ready — pulls strongly and hasn’t had much practice Travel & Training Travels in a crate when driving House training: Still in progress, doing much better but not fully trained Puppy pad trained: No — prefers a blue tarp, which he's successfully used Crate trained: No Leash walking: Pulls a lot and is too strong for current foster — still learning Knows commands: None currently Behavior Notes Not a resource guarder — very easygoing around food and treats Barks on occasion, but not excessively Low shedding Very tolerant and gentle — no signs of aggression or reactivity Ready to Meet Jack?
