Meet Kacie!With Kacie, you won’t be able to decide whether to be awed by herintelligence, touched by her fierce loyalty, or rolling with laughter at hercomical antics!This adorable border collie/heeler mix had a tough start to life when shewas dumped along a country road with her sister and her mom. Then, justdays after being rescued by Mutts and as she was beginning to settle intothe pleasure of good food and a safe place to live, Kacie’s sister got sick.Watching Kacie demonstrate her concern for her sister by cuddling with herand even barking at her to get her up was heartwarming. She continues toshow that same protectiveness with whichever canine in her pack appearsto be the underdog at the moment, and she will jump in to even the sides ofa situation.Kacie is full of delightful puppy energy and excitement, trying to go underpuppy gates if opening them takes longer than she would like and figuringways around any obstacles in her way. Kacie is incredibly smart, eager toplease, and treat oriented, and she took only two days to figure out whatpottying outside is all about. She is definitely still learning, but thequickness with which she understands expectations is impressive! Like hersister, Kacie can be a little cautious at first, although her excitementfrequently outweighs her caution.Kacie would do better with a playful canine sibling who would teach herdog stuff, who would share her excitement for a run around the yard, andwho would be her cuddle buddy during nap time.All of our dogs are located in a foster home in Texas, Colorado, or Pennsylvania. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Mutts N Such direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).Our out of state adoption fee is $350 plus transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, a registered microchip, fecal analysis, spay/neuter for pets 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs will be current on flea/heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days.
