You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.KAYAK is a local surrender who through no fault of his own found his way into Rescue. He’s neutered, had his first set of vaccines including rabies shot, microchipped and been deemed a healthy boy by our vet. We have him listed as a Corgi as we were told he came from a so called breeder of Corgi’s but we have no proof of that. He’s currently fostered with our wonderful dog trainer and she’s bringing out the absolute best in him plus getting a good understanding of him too. In her words “he’s a sweet, loveable boy with his humans and there’s nothing he likes better than to snuggle up with them.“ KAYAK is crate trained and has now become quite relaxed in it. It has been noted that he has some guarding issues so he eats all his meals and special treats in his crate. He’s housetrained and will let you know when he needs to go outside for a bathroom break. He’s been well cared for and has no major issues but he does struggle with some dogs as he is a bit bossy. He likes toys and being outside but mostly he just likes being with his people. He’s lived with a cat before without incident so should suit a home with one. We always recommend a cat should be dog savvy and a slow monitored introduction should be made while the dog is kept leashed. He did live with children previously with no issues so we’re recommending they be age 6 plus and be gentle and loving to animals. He does require a fenced-in yard as he loves to run around and play outside. KAYAK’s ideal family will be an active one who loves the outdoors as much as he does. He would love to go on lots of walks and hikes in the woods. He enjoys going in a vehicle and travels well in it too so he’d always be up to going on adventures or even on a camping trip..We do need his adopter to be committed to continue his training and take him to obedience training to help him be the best boy possible. The training will also help him and his adopter form a bond and understand each other better. If KAYAK sounds like he’ll fit into your family and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet him.
