My story

Meet Gene  a sweet, 9-week old male maine coon kitten mix who is full of love, curiosity, and fun!  After coming into our care, Gene underwent surgery to remove an eye that has been damaged by an Infection before he was rescued. Now Gene not only has dashing permanent wink, but is experiencing kitten life to the fullest! Gene is playful, snuggly, and incredibly social—he is obsessed with everyone that he meets, especially other kittens and cats.  Cats? Loves them.Dogs? Thinks they're cool.Kids? His favorite playmates.People? Instant best friends. According to his foster mom, "Gene's cuddles are just the BEST!" On any given day, you can find Gene snuggling up with his foster parents and kittens sisters, Louise and Tina (who are also available for adoption at Waggytail Rescue), bravely jumping across his cat tree like its his own personal jungle gym, or chasing his favorite mouse toys around the room! Whether he is pouncing with precision or using his one good eye to judge your treat selection, Gene is living proof that a missing eye just makes room for extra personality and affection! If you're looking for a kitten with a gentle soul and resilient spirit, Gene is your guy! Vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies. FeLV / FIV negative, neutered, and microchipped.  Please Note: Because Gene is still a kitten, he must be adopted into a home that already has a playful cat or kitten or be adopted as a pair (his sisters, Louise and Tina, are both available!)  To apply for Gene, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the animal is on our website, they are still available.
