My story

MEET GIDGET! 7-year-old female Pomeranian After seven years in a puppy mill making babies, Gidget is finally getting a taste of the good life—and she’s loving every minute. This 8-pound sweetheart is funny, friendly, brave, and a little guarded. She’s the first to greet her foster mom, the first to taste new foods, and the quiet protector of her little pack. Her eyes are always watching, and her heart is slowly learning that she’s safe now. Pad trained, but not yet house trained. Not leash trained—yet! She is still getting acclimated to people. Goat kefir, boiled eggs, and flounder fillets Gidget isn’t ready to be touched just yet—but she stays close, observes everything, and greets you with growing trust. Earning her love is a process, but she is very happy to see people. She will need an experienced adopter who understands the patience and compassion required to help a dog heal from years of neglect. Gidget thrives in a peaceful, quiet, and understanding home—an environment where she can continue working through her insecurities and move forward at her own pace. Her history with kids, cats, and other dogs is unknown, but her resilience is undeniable. Her adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week.
