My story

BEAUTIFUL SPLASHES OF COLOR  DOB 6/1/24 Hey there, everyone! I’m Palette, a sweet, friendly, calm, and gentle calico whose gorgeous patches of peach and black on white reminded Foster Meowmy of an artist’s palette. Although I don’t jump on her lap, I do seek out Foster Meowmy’s attention and luxuriate when she scratches my ears, chin, and cheeks or gently strokes my back. When I was about five or six months old, I started showing up as a stray at Meowmy’s house and was thrilled when she started feeding me. She greeted me with such kind words that I knew I could trust her. Eventually I became brave enough to claim the back patio as my refuge from the dogs and cars in the front yard. Whenever she came out back, I would come up to greet her and invite her to pet me. The inevitable happened, however, and when she realized that I was pregnant, she scooped me up and brought me inside to stop the cycle of more stray cats and kittens in her neighborhood. When I was about ten months old, I birthed my #artist-colony litter of five kittens in the safe haven of my foster home. I’ve been an exemplary teenage momma – attentive, protective, and easygoing. I’m still young myself, though, so I enjoy interactive playtime when Foster Meowmy waves the wand toy over my head or snakes it around the room for me to chase. I even display my soccer skills when I bat my stuffed toys around the room. Sometimes I join my kits in their playing and chasing. I’d say that I definitely deserve and cherish moments during the day when I can grab my quiet time away from my kittens. Now that I’ve permanently retired from motherhood, I’m ready to bring my friendly poise and cheerful calmness to my forever family. Plus, in many cultures, calico cats are considered to bring good fortune. Would you like that to be you?
