Didn’t you hear? It’s Sweet Girl Summer, and peaches are in season! I’m Peach, and I’ve worked real hard to beat the heat and get back in shape after being rescued from a tough place. I’m ready for a fresh start, though, and we should do it together! Here’s what you should know about me: 1. Physical touch is my love language! I have to confess that I’m a little nervous at first because I’m still learning that humans can be kind. That said, I’m a sucker for cheek scratches and can be quickly won over with that. All you need to do is crouch a little, extend your hand toward me while rubbing your fingers, and I’ll immediately stroll over. Then, add in some soft, head to tail pets and you’ll notice me step wayyy up on my tippy toes to make sure you give me all the love! 2. My favorite toy right now is a feather wand toy. I may look like a softy, but I’m serious about my play time! Bring out one of these, and you’ll see me 3 feet in the air, swiping away at the feathers. Suddenly, I’m an Olympic gymnast tumbling over and over, aiming for gold. And when I catch the feathers?! You’ll see that pulling them back for another round will be a workout because I’m super strong and hold on tight to my prize! 3. I used to live with 4 other kitties, but they all got adopted without me after we were rescued. I’m hoping it’s my turn next! Currently, I live in-foster with an easygoing male cat. I wouldn’t mind a cat sibling when I find my forever home, but they should know I plan to be in charge. My foster mom doesn’t have dogs, so she’s not sure how I’d react at first, but I think I can make friends with anyone in time. I am an independent woman at heart, though, so I would be just as happy on my own as an only cat child. 4. When I first came to SAPA, I was so skinny and had no idea what it was like to have consistent meals. But I’m totally healthy now with the weight I’ve gained and really enjoy eating kibble. I pride myself on my excellent litter box habits and am currently practicing with an overnight sleep schedule. My foster mom says that because I’m so adaptable, she’s certain I will get cozy in my new home just as quickly as I did in hers. 5. Although I can enjoy my own company, I do sometimes feel alone. If my foster mom steps away without me noticing and I can’t find my foster brother either, I feel left behind and am not sure where to go. I’ve learned my voice is my power, though, and let out some little “mews” so they can find me. Then, after some snuggles, I’m back to feeling safe again! My ultimate Summer goal is to find a new home where I can live a calm, long life, just like my former cat siblings are getting to live now. Do you think you can be my forever home?
