Meet Mister (love bug!) Everyone say hello to Mister! Mister is a charming, 1 year old, orange boy with a lot of live to give! Mister has come a long way in search for his very own person! Learning all he can about human environments, this joyful, curious, purring mama's boy loves to lay on your lap, is very affectionate, then jumps up to amuse himself with stuffed animal toys (especially with tails!), scratching posts, catnip mice, feathers and long pieces of string. He can even fetch! Mister loves to sit in the window and feel warm, secure and will bond quickly with the right person who speaks kindly to him, becoming a lifelong companion. Mister reliably uses his litter box. He enjoys to snuggle, play with bell and feather toys, and be pet! Mister showed up as a stray at a kind person’s home recently. As a young unaltered male he had begun getting into cat fights with other Tom cats . Thankfully the kind person who found him swiftly contacted us for advice and assistance. She decided to bring him inside and foster him until we can find him a forever home. Mister is now fully vetted; neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea treated. Because of the time he spent outdoors before being fixed, he unfortunately contracted FIV (Feline immunodeficiency virus). FIV can only be transmitted via deep bite wounds which are usually associated with unaltered cats fighting or mating. Fixed and vaccinated FIV+ cats can coexist in a household with other FIV- kitties without spread of the virus. As long as all kitties in the household are friendly and non aggressive there shouldn’t be any risk. FIV is essentially an auto immune disease and may make kitties that have it more susceptible to infection. With an indoor home and quality diet these cats can live a very happy and healthy long life.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Mister, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
