With eyes like honey and a heart made of velvet, Shaya is the kind of puppy you don’t just adopt — you feel her. At just 4 months old and 25 pounds, this gorgeous little lady has already known heartbreak, but you’d never guess it by the way she leans into your touch and follows you like you’re her whole world. Shaya and her three sisters were abandoned along the remote Natchez Trace Parkway in Tennessee — a stretch of highway known for beauty but, heartbreakingly, also for being a dumping ground for unwanted dogs. Left to survive on their own, they were rescued just in time. But despite her rough start, Shaya has emerged with a spirit that is pure light — soft, hopeful, and quietly brave. She’s a lovely blend of German Shepherd and Hound, giving her a striking look and an incredibly balanced personality. She’s got that old-soul calm, with little sparks of puppy playfulness that peek through when the sun is out and kids are laughing nearby. In fact, Shaya comes alive around children — tail wagging, eyes bright, ready to chase a toy or share a moment of joy. What makes her extra special? She’s thoughtful — observing before leaping, but always with love She’s gentle — the kind of pup who melts into your side instead of bouncing off the walls She’s social — great with dogs, respectful of cats, and so sweet with new people and she ADORES CHILDREN! She’s learning fast — crate training, housebreaking, and settling into a rhythm like a little pro Shaya doesn’t bark for attention — she quietly wins hearts. She’s the pup who will curl up at your feet while you read, follow you from room to room with adoration in her eyes, and be the soft comfort beside you on hard days. She’s not looking for just any home — she’s looking for her person. The one who will promise forever and mean it. Shaya is currently being fostered in Tennessee, but she can be on her way to the Northeast on one of our weekend rescue transport vans. Let her be the best part of your every day.
